Shopify orders, answered safely.

Connect your Shopify store and your office answers order questions from the order itself, only to the person who placed it. It knows your products for your posts and counts your sales each month. It writes nothing to your store.

What your office does with your Shopify store.

  • "Where is my order?" answered from the order itself: its status, what was shipped and the tracking, only to the person who placed it.
  • Your products known to your office, so a post about a product uses its real name and its price as your store shows it.
  • Your month in numbers. Orders and sales in the monthly report, cancelled and test orders left out, each currency on its own.

What it reads and writes

  • Reads one order at a time, by its number
  • Reads your products and their prices
  • Writes nothing to your store

An order is shown only to its owner.

By email, the sender's address must be the order's. In your website's chat, the visitor must give the order number and the email it was placed with. If they do not match, the answer is exactly the same as for an order that does not exist, so nobody can find out whether an order number is real. A delivery address is never read out.

"Where is my order 1042?"An example. With a match, the customer gets the status and the tracking link; without one, the same polite answer as for an order that does not exist.

How to connect.

In your Shopify admin, create a custom app with permission to read orders and products, and paste its access token with your store's name (your-store.myshopify.com). Your office tries the token against your store once, and only then keeps it, sealed. You can remove the app in Shopify at any time.

Not on Shopify? WooCommerce, Shopware and ikas connect the same way.

Questions

Asked before you start.

What permissions does it need?

A custom app that can read orders and products. Nothing more.

Can someone get another customer's order details?

No. The order is shown only when the sender's email, or the email the visitor gives, is the order's. Otherwise the answer is the same as for an order that does not exist.

Does it change orders or refunds?

No. It reads only. Refunds and changes stay yours, and a case that needs a decision comes to you.

Free to set up, no card needed. It reads your website, asks what it could not find, and nothing goes live until you have checked it.
