AI rings compared

AI rings, compared.

AI rings come in two kinds: rings that record your voice for an app on your phone, and rings that put an assistant on your finger. We compared the ones you can read about, with sources, as of 3 November 2026.

Head to head

Two kinds of AI ring

Recorder rings capture what you say and hand it to an app on your phone, which turns it into notes or passes it to an AI. They are simple, light and often cheap, but the phone does the work and gives the answers.

Assistant rings close the loop on your finger: you ask, the ring answers. That needs a way to reach the AI without the phone, a way to show or say the answer, and a way to say yes. Lychnos Ring is built around those three: an eSIM, a see-through screen with a small speaker, and a button that means yes.

Questions

What is the best AI ring?

It depends on what you want from it. For sleep and health, a health ring is built for that. For voice notes into your phone, a simple recorder ring is the cheapest. For an assistant you can use without your phone, with answers on your finger, that is what Lychnos Ring is being built for.

Which AI ring works without a phone?

Of the rings in this table, Lychnos Ring is the one designed to work without the phone after set-up, through its own eSIM. It is in development.
