Looking for a Nirva alternative?
Nirva is a pendant or bracelet that listens to your own voice through the day and turns it into insights in an app. Lychnos Ring takes the other road: it listens only when you hold its button, and answers you there and then.
In short. Nirva costs $249, comes as a pendant or a bracelet, and listens passively to its wearer’s voice for insights in an app; orders open in November 2026. Lychnos Ring is in development for Europe, listens only while you hold its button, and answers on the ring and at your ear.

Two ideas of an AI wearable
One kind listens through your day and tells you something about it afterwards. The other waits until you ask and answers now. The first needs a microphone that is on for hours; the second needs one only for the seconds you speak. Which is right depends on what you want from it, and on the people around you: more on that in recording conversations with an AI wearable.
What Lychnos Ring does instead
Hold the button and ask: your next meeting, what an email says, whether a claim is true, a reminder for six o’clock. The first line shows on the ring’s see-through screen, the rest comes at your ear, and anything that changes something, such as a reply or a moved meeting, waits for one press. It works without your phone after set-up, over its own eSIM. See all the devices side by side in AI wearables in 2026.
Questions
Does Nirva record other people?
According to TechCrunch, Nirva is built to listen only to its wearer's voice. Check the maker's own description and settings before you wear it among other people.
Does Lychnos Ring listen all day?
No. Its microphone has power only while you hold the button, to hear what you ask; the clip becomes text in our cloud in the EU and is deleted right after.
