Phone-free assistant
Your day at your fingertips. No phone needed.
Your phone does a hundred things and pulls you in for each of them. Lychnos Ring does the few you need all day, from your finger, and lets the screen stay in your pocket.
What you can leave in your bag
- The glanceTurn your hand: the time and your next meeting appear, then the screen goes dark again.
- The mail that mattersOne buzz and a line; raise the ring to hear the rest.
- The quick replyHold the button and say it. One press sends it.
- The reminderA buzz at the right moment, wherever you are.
- The quick answerThe weather at five, a word you forgot, a fact you doubt.
What still needs your phone
Photos, long reading, maps on a screen and your apps. Calls, too, in the first version. Lychnos Ring is not a phone; it takes the small, frequent things off one.
How it stays connected
An eSIM inside the ring uses LTE-M, a mobile network made for small devices, wherever that network reaches. Your phone sets the ring up and connects your accounts; after that it is not needed. Bluetooth carries the set-up, and the stop that two presses send to Alkyon at home.
Less screen, the same day
The see-through screen is dark until you look, and every answer starts as a buzz you can feel. Most of the day, nothing lights up at all. See what else the ring does in the overview.
Questions
Does it replace my phone?
No. It takes the small, frequent things off it: the time and the next meeting, the mail that matters, quick replies, reminders and answers.
Does it work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. The ring has no Wi-Fi; it uses its own LTE-M eSIM wherever that network reaches, and Bluetooth for set-up.
Can I make calls with it?
Not with the first ring: its eSIM carries data, not phone calls, and it has no phone number. Planned for the second model: Lychnos placing calls for you to book things, and calls between the ring and the Lychnos app. Calls to any phone number need a number and a telecom partner; we are looking at that for a later model.
