Different jobs
A recorder is for afterwards: what was said, and who promised what. An assistant is for now: what is next, what this mail says, move that meeting. Many people will want both; they are different tools.
Recording, and the people around you
Recording a conversation captures other people too; depending on the country, that can need their knowledge or consent. Lychnos Ring hears only while you hold its button. More in hold to talk versus wake words.
